LG C900 with WP7 coming end September

One of the Windows Phone 7 devices that leaked galore these days was the LG C900 with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It was interesting to peep at its Bluetooth SIG filing, and to find out that LG has slated it for September 28th release to market.
This is in line with what AT&T was striving for. Ma Bell wants to be the first to out a WP7 device, and was gearing up its retail store promotional materials at the end of July. This usually means end of September launch for the devices, coinciding nicely with the officially announced Q4 WP7 availability. If we put two and two together, first to the US market with a Windows Phone 7 device should be LG, either with the GW910, or the C900, pictured below, both appearing on AT&T.
This is not correct. Here are the only dates that are assured from Microsoft:
1. September 16th the developer tools will be gold (out of beta).
2. Mid October, the Windows Phone 7 marketplace will open.
3. The phone will be released Holiday’s 2010. Last time I checked, September is not close to Thanksgiving or Christmas.
It just doesn’t make sense for them to release the phone before the they turn on the marketplace. Maybe AT&T will allow you to pre-buy the phone for November or December but nothing more than that.
Greg, what about this source? https://www.bluetooth.org/tpg/EPL_Detail.cfm?ProductID=13362
Maybe LG has the phone ready, but Microsoft is not ready for launch. Device providers have to have pass a lot of FCC certifications. LG probably just guessed at a date and put it down.
You might be right at that. Maybe LG just wants to hype it up and want people to talk about like we are doing right now, but the source is not bad…
I see more valuable sources saying this. It might be reality and not a marketing stunt from LG. Keep us updated
would love to see windows phone 7 working. Do you think wp7 can compete with andriod or apple?? Hope it is not flopping like Bing….
I think Windows Phone 7 will be more successful than Bing. Heard on different boards that Microsoft got a 1 billion dollar budget available for launch. They had 100 million dollar for the launch of Bing.
We have to wait and see
