LG Optimus One review

Review of the LG Optimus One – LG’s latest budget smartphone that packs Android 2.2 and 32GB of potential storage in one affordable metal-rimmed chassis.

LG has recently announced its new budget Android phone LG Optimus One in India. As Android is gradually gaining the ranks for preferred Mobile OS platform, the budget Android phones are fast becoming the norm.

Offered at a cheap price, the new Android devices sport a decent operating systems (mostly Android 2.1, or 2.2) and offer superb features to their users normally reserved for high-end handsets.

The LG Optimus One is the latest budget phone to hit the shelves in India. It has Android 2.2 onboard, masses of storage (potentially 32GB with a microSD card) and, as an added bonus, it doesn’t look cheap in the slightest.

Its form factor, although plasticky, is accented by a metallic edging that encircles the entire chassis, as well as the navigation key and the camera on its rear. The effect is subtle, but it does a lot for the phone in terms of base aesthetics.

Size wise, the LG Optimus One is quite large measuring 113.5 x 59 x 13.3 mm, we’d say it feels about the same size in-hand as the HTC Desire – it’s a good size and at 129 g it isn’t too heavy either.

The Optimus One is a candy bar-style device that features three hardware keys – Settings, Home and Back, located on one brushed metal keypad, and Search – a volume rocker on the top right-hand side, a 3 megapixel camera round back and a 3.5mm headphone jack input on top.
