LG Unveils Best Line-Up at MWC 2011, Attribute Optimus 3D and Optimus Pad
LG has put together a press release detailing its premier device lineup for MWC 2011, with the LG Optimus 3D and Optimus Pad being the two flagship devices and the Optimus 2X and Black following behind them.
The Optimus 3D uses a 1 GHz dual-core TI OMAP4 processor with “four times more video decoders than competing designs”, with higher graphics performance, a dual-lens camera that can take 3D pictures (hence the name) and display them in 3D on a 4.3″ WVGA display without needing glasses. It will also include HDMI and DLNA options for easy connectivity to HDTVs and other multimedia devices. No word on which version of Android it will use, though it’s quite possible it will be running 2.2 Froyo and later upgradeable to Gingerbread.
The LG Optimus Pad is LG’s answer to the competing tablets like the Motorola Xoom; it uses a 8.9″ WXGA screen with 1280 x 768 resolution that comes with 15:9 aspect ratio and 1080p decoding. It will feature Android 3.0 Honeycomb, and run on a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor. It will also have a competitive edge over every other tablet already announced by offering a 3D camera.
